It's no secret that science fiction has introduced many gadgets and gizmos long before they were a reality: cell phones, in-ear headphones, virtual reality games, electric cars, etc. (If you're curious to discover more, check out

Of course, there are also those that have yet to become a reality despite the best efforts of many - like the hoverboards in
Back to the Future. While the hoverboards on the market currently are fun to ride, they still don't actually hover above the ground.
Personally, I'm waiting on teleporters to become a part of everyday living. There are some intriguing prospects out there in the field of
quantum mechanics, but it'll be awhile yet before anyone can walk into their living room and say "Beem me up, Scotty."

As soon as I read your title, I immediately started singing "Part of Your World" :) Cool post. I would really love for the teleporters to come out right now! You could go anywhere in a matter of seconds. Or you know what, I could go for a Tardis just as well.

DeleteHmm, so many choices! The Darby Shaw Chronicles by Liberty Speidel include cars that can hover over everything to avoid traffic, which would really come in handy!
