Laurie

I'm Laurie Lucking - thanks for visiting my author page! I grew up in Wisconsin, but am now settled in Minnesota with my husband and two young, red-headed sons.  After studying English and economics at St. Olaf College and law at the University of Minnesota, I worked as a lawyer for several years assisting business clients.  When my older son was born I decided to become a stay-at-home mom, at which point I discovered writing fiction is much more fun than drafting contracts!

I currently spend my days answering hundreds of questions, singing endless rounds of "Wheels on the Bus," and driving cars on the floor until I've worn holes in all my jeans (I wish I were exaggerating).  When I find a spare moment, I write young adult fantasy with a strong thread of romance. My debut novel, Common, was published in February, 2018, and I also have a short story titled "Threshold" published in the Mythical Doorways anthology by the Fellowship of Fantasy (available for FREE on Amazon!).

Make sure to sign up for my monthly e-newsletter for my latest writing / publishing updates, and join my readers' group to chat books with fellow readers and get sneak peeks into my stories!

You can also find me on: my WebsiteTwitterFacebookPinterest, and Instagram. I'd love to connect!
