Your Turn: Your Favorite Social Media Site (Jill)

Recently, I asked my author group a question: which do you like better, Instagram or Twitter? Instagram was the winner, although someone went rogue and voted for Facebook. I started thinking about all the different social media sites I was encouraged to be on, to build my platform. And unfortunately, that never stops. I’m assuming my gravestone’s epitaph will be “Follow me athttps://www.facebook.com/jmhackman/!”

I’ve made an account on Facebook, Instagram, Goodreads, Twitter, Google+, as well as my own personal author website. That’s a lot to keep track of, but since my favorite is Facebook, that’s where I usually am.

My question for you? What is your favorite social media site? Do you manage to stay active on several at a time? Maybe you have a social media tip or technique that’s worked really well for you?

Please share below in the comments!

  1. I use Facebook mostly, though I check Twitter as well. I love pinterest, but mostly for personal use. However, I refuse to join Instagram or any more social media networks!

  2. Good for you for limiting your networks, Elizabeth! I love Pinterest, too -- great to use for writing inspiration.

  3. Facebook is my favorite, too! I like the idea of Instagram, but I never remember to take pictures and I wish it were easier to use on a computer since I'm old-school :) I don't spend much time on Twitter, but it seems like a good place to make announcements that could reach an audience beyond just people you know. So a little of each, I guess!

  4. It's hard to change our habits, but little by little I'm easing into Instagram. I feel torn, though -- I want to live my life, not watch it through a lens, while looking for that perfect image to post. Guess I'm old school, too!

  5. Instagram is my favorite. :) It helps me to have a purpose for each site and cross-post among them any content that fits. Using schedulers, like Buffer, also helps. I try to check in at least once a week, some accounts more often.
