Cover Reveal for A Thieving Curse by Selina R. Gonzalez

I'm thrilled to share a cover reveal today for A Thieving Curse by Selina R. Gonzalez! A Thieving Curse is Book One of The Miraveld Chronicles and will release on April 7th! Here's the back cover blurb:

Princess Raelyn would love a simple life getting up to mischief with her brother and being valued for herself, not her title, but her purpose has been dictated since childhood. A treaty that established an unprecedented era of peace requires her marriage to Crown Prince Tristan when she turns eighteen. It’s time to face her destiny, and Raelyn is ready to shoulder the responsibility. But when she gets lost on the way to the wedding, she is caught by a dragon-man. Not only does the monster claim to be Alexander, the rightful crown prince living in hiding, but he refuses to return her to her family—putting the future of her kingdom and safety of her family at risk.

Trapped in dangerous mountains, Raelyn struggles to reconcile the kindness of the dragon-man’s human friends with the beast who breathes fire. When Alexander reveals the shocking truth of his curse, she begins to see past the monstrous exterior to the prince’s human heart. But will Raelyn have the courage to admit her growing attraction to a cursed man? And will her family manage to salvage the treaty when they think her dead?

Doesn't it sound fabulous? I'm always a fan of a good Beauty and the Beast retelling 😍 You can find pre-order links HERE, and make sure to follow the author on Instagram and Facebook!

Cover Reveal for Traitor (Tales of the Mystics, Book Two)!!!!!

Happy Friday, friends!! This is an especially happy Friday for me, because I FINALLY get to share the cover for my upcoming new release, Traitor! Eeeeeeek! My publisher, Love2ReadLove2Write Publishing, set the standard really high with the first book in my Tales of the Mystics series, Common, so I couldn't wait to see what they came up with for Traitor - and it's amazing!!!

Would you like to see it??

Scroll a little farther...

Sorry, I'm having too much fun with this, but you're almost there...

Keep scrolling...

TA DA!!!!!!!

*happy sigh* Isn't it just stunning? And it fits the story SO well! Traitor follows Princess Penelope, who ended up more on the villain side of the equation in Common, as she travels to a country across the sea to fulfill a new arranged marriage. Although eager to make up for her past mistakes, she struggles to trust herself and to find her place in her new home. And she's determined to never fall in love again, which becomes more challenging than she expected when her new fiancé turns out to be devoted, charming, and just so sweet. (Yep, I have a bit of a crush on him...but to be fair, he's a lot like my husband!) So I adore the way the cover captures her hesitance and indecision with light shining as a beacon of hope. And that dress, and her pretty hair, and the cool architecture...I'm so in love!

Traitor is set to release on April 27th - I can't wait to share it with you!! Here's the back cover blurb:

Princess Penelope has finally found a way to redeem her past mistakes—if only it didn’t require betraying her new fiancé.

Princess Penelope has been the object of gossip and ridicule ever since she returned home in disgrace following her failed engagement to the Crown Prince of Imperia. When her father offers a new start in a country far across the sea, she has no choice but to accept.

Even if it means another betrothal, this time to a total stranger.

Penelope arrives in Delunia determined to avoid bringing further shame upon her family. But her devoted, caring fiancé makes it harder to guard her heart than she anticipated, and rumors of dark magic haunt her with memories she’d rather keep buried far beneath her pristine exterior.

When a poverty-stricken village outside the palace gates looks to her as their hope for a brighter future, Penelope embraces the opportunity to make amends for her transgressions. But in order to help, she must manipulate her new fiancé, putting her reputation on the line once more. And her heart.

Can Penelope rise above the failures of her past, or will she forever be branded a traitor?

Be on the lookout for pre-order links coming soon! In the meantime, I'm going to make the shameless plug that this would be the perfect time to read Common if you haven't yet! (See? I didn't forget that this is supposed to be a Weekend Reads post after all... 😆)

I started Common with the Cinderella-type premise of a friendship between a maid and a prince. But then I took it in a totally different direction with the maid discovering a plot against the royal family and needing to save the day with the help of some mysterious nuns. If you're a fan of fairy tales, fantasy adventure, and clean romance, I hope you'll give it a try!

Have a great weekend! And thanks for celebrating my new cover with me!!

Weekend Reads: A DOUBLE Cover Reveal!

Are you a fan of Cinderella retellings? If the answer is yes (which, in my humble opinion, it should be!), then read on! Today we're excited to help Uncommon Universes Press reveal the covers of their TWO upcoming Cinderella retellings: Ashen by H.L. Burke and Met by Midnight by Janeen Ippolito! Both stories will release on September 22nd and are currently available for $.99, so you definitely want to pre-order now!

First, here's the back cover blurb for Ashen by H.L. Burke:
Stealer of warmth, bringer of death. What if Cinderella had a secret that kept her locked away?
Unable to make her own body heat, foundling Lizbete survives in the tavern kitchen, drawing warmth from the fires, the sun—and sometimes, other living beings. Her days are spent cooking alongside the tavern owner and avoiding the suspicious gazes of the villagers in her small northern town. While she quietly longs for the handsome Brynar, she knows she has no chance with the mayor’s son, even if he invites her to the First Frost festival.

When sudden earthquakes strike Brumehome, blame falls upon Lizbete, and not even her friendship with Brynar can protect her. She finds shelter in the dangerous caverns of nearby Ash Mountain. There she discovers mysterious people with her same ability to draw heat—and a fiery doom in the mountain that slowly awakens with every quake.

Now the festival Lizbete thought to avoid is her only chance to warn the villagers. Yet even with Brynar at her side, can the strange girl dubbed the Ash Lizard hope to save the town that fears her?

A rugged YA Cinderella retelling set in a fantasy world with light steampunk elements.

I actually got a sneak peek at this one, and it's every bit as intriguing as it sounds! Here's the gorgeous cover:

You can pre-order Ashen on Amazon or the Uncommon Universes website for a signed paperback, and don't forget to add it on Goodreads! And now, here's the back cover blurb for Met by Midnight by Janeen Ippolito:
An outcast prince. A captive healer. A single night that changes their destinies.
She lives a nightmare.
As a Mender, Renna is held captive to an endless cycle of receiving and recovering from the physical ailments of others—a cycle that led her mother to an early grave. When her father becomes deathly ill, Renna is desperate to save her only remaining family. Even if it means allying with criminals and taking an illegal mission into the royal palace on the night of their greatest ball.
He’s haunted by dreams.
Unable to be Mended, Prince Jaric’s existence is a curse to his family’s façade of health and security. Marrying him off at the ball and sending him to a distant dukedom is the royal solution—but Jaric has his own plans. For years he’s dreamed of a young woman, a strong-hearted Mender he would give everything for. When she arrives the night of his betrothal, he’s determined to discover her true identity.
Met by midnight, their fates are entwined.
While escape seems the only answer, powerful forces conspire to keep Renna and Jaric within their cages. Forces that undermine the foundations of the kingdom itself—and threaten any hope of a future together.
This YA romance features Cinderella in an original fantasy world with a dystopian twist.

Eeeep, I can't wait! Here's the stunning cover:

You can find Met by Midnight on Goodreads, Amazon, or the Uncommon Universes website for a signed paperback. Remember to pre-order for $.99!

Congratulations on your upcoming new releases, ladies!!

Cover Reveal: Azriel by Lee James (Laurie)

Hi friends! I hope everyone had a very happy Fourth of July weekend! I was originally going to share a Story Snippet with you today from my Peter Pan-inspired short story, "Threshold," which was published in the Mythical Doorways anthology put together by the Fellowship of Fantasy...

...BUT, then I saw the cover for Azriel by Lee James, which is being revealed TODAY, and I knew I had to share that instead! I know I'm a little biased since Love2ReadLove2Write Publishing is also my publisher, but their covers are just *so* gorgeous!!! First, here's a little bit about the author, Lee James:

Lee James writes stories of hope and redemption. Whether she creates fantasy, mystery, or historical fiction, her beautifully awkward characters traverse a dark labyrinth on their journey to a hopeful end. Her work is dedicated to sharing the beauty of Christ, one faith-infused project at a time. Keep up-to-date with all of her stories at www.leejameswrites.com.

Now, here's the back cover blurb for Azriel, which will release sometime this fall. I can't wait!!

Bree Faro learns early in life that she has only herself to depend on. Due to her feisty nature and unusual ability with a sword, she is educated in every fighting style imaginable and excels at them all. When she’s sent to infiltrate the city of Azriel, she does not expect to find her place among the Watchmen of the Keep, but they welcome her as one of their own.
Little does Bree know that her new companions are in danger.
An immortal creature lies in wait for any Keeper of the Flame, the city’s water source has dried up, and they are under constant attack from the Yirtzi—former Watchmen reduced to vengeful spirits, who sold their souls for power only to realize the enemy of Yahweh does not translate to the friend of mankind. Not only that, but the Watchmen are fraying. Hostilities come to a head when a Watchman is murdered.
Only a Watchman can kill another Watchman, and all eyes shift to Bree.
Bree finds herself faced with a choice. Does she engineer the betrayal of the powerful city, or does she embrace her destiny as a true Watchman of Yahweh and find the killer before it’s too late?

And finally, here's that amazing cover you've been waiting for!

So many congratulations to Lee James and the L2L2 Publishing team for creating such a stunning book!!

See you next time!
Laurie

P.S. If you're interested in more than a snippet of "Threshold," you can get the entire story FREE! Find just "Threshold" here, or read the entire Mythical Doorways anthology here. Happy reading!

Writer's Life: A Cover Reveal! (Katie)

Cover Reveal for The Rebel Princess

Happy July everyone! The summer is in full swing for most of the country, and along with the sunny weather I'm enjoying having just received the cover files for my latest novel, The Rebel Princess! I thought I'd give you all one of the first peeks--which is also a peek into the life of this writer.

The Rebel Princess is book 2 in the series (the first book is The Rejected Princess, which you can learn more about at Goodreads). There might be a book 3. I'm playing around with that one still!

So, are you ready to see the cover?

Ta Da!

Merry Stern has never been a spy, but when she’s offered asylum in exchange for her
help uncovering remaining rebel bands, she accepts in hopes of freeing her father.

Working with the royals is no easy feat, as Prince Gregory Hamilton considers her untrustworthy and duplicitous. As she and the prince navigate their uncomfortable relationship, Merry is introduced to questions she did not know she possessed; questions of light and darkness, good and evil.

Princess Roanna is finally engaged to Prince Benjamin of Lox, only the marriage seems stalled and she cannot determine at whose hand. The Dawsons won’t let her out of their sight, Chester’s Wake is focusing all efforts on finding their lost princess, and Lox refuses to acknowledge her position entirely.

Truth and lies are brought to light as those who seek to control and destroy are finally
uncovered in The Rebel Princess

I have to be honest, as soon as I saw this cover I was in love. I squealed and showed my husband, who smiled at me like I was an amusing child. Haha!

So, what about you? What do you think? How's your summer rolling along? I'd love to know!
