Farewell for Now (Laura)

With some sadness, I have decided this will be my last post for Lands Uncharted for a while so I can focus more on other writing projects. Writing for Lands Uncharted has been fulfilling in many ways, and I have loved the friendships that came through this blog community.

To continue what Elizabeth started when she wrote her goodbye, I would like to mention my favorite Lands Uncharted posts from the past year and a half.

Laurie:
Finding Joy
I love this idea of choosing a word to reflect your hopes for the year, a kind of positive reminder of where to re-center your energy when you get distracted.

Erin:
Prepping for My First Conference
This is such an honest post that demonstrates the excitement and nerves that can go along with attending a writers' conference, especially your first one.

Hannah:
NaNoWriMo: Write with Abandon!
Hannah's NaNoWriMo series was amazing, and this one especially inspired me to want to participate.

Jill:
Personal Notes: The Struggle is Real
Jill talks in this post about some of the struggles writers face, and her words are comforting and motivating.

Lizzie:
Concealment and Revelation through POV and Viewpoint
In this post, Lizzie gives a wonderful discussion on character viewpoint and illustrates it with some helpful and interesting examples.

Elizabeth:
My Personality
Here, Elizabeth leads a fun conversation on personality types, which it seems may be an especially fascinating topic for writers. :-)

The post I most enjoyed writing was probably either a goofy one about my cat, Puss in Shoes, or an explanation of what one of my favorite books means to me, The Magician's Elephant.

Thanks to the group and readers for having me. It's been a blast, and I will miss you. What are your favorite Lands Uncharted posts?

  1. I will miss reading your posts, Laura. One of my favorites was the one you wrote about the skyways... the title escapes me right now, but it was very poetic. :)

  2. You will be very much missed, Laura, but we're so grateful for all your wonderful contributions to the blog! A few of my favorite posts of yours were the bad opening lines post and the "Know Your Weaknesses, Use Your Strengths" post (I might not have the name quite right, but hopefully you know which one I mean!). We look forward to having you back for a guest post every once in a while :)
