Disney Prince / Princess Matchmaking! (Laurie)

Since we've been talking about animated movies and Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to do a little matchmaking :)  If you could take the Disney princesses/heroines and princes/heroes and match them into new couples, who do you think would go well together?

I can't wait to see what creative matches you come up with! And feel free to include characters from other animated movies, too - I'm not picky :)

See you next time!
Laurie

  1. Hmmm--this is hard! I am having a difficult time imagining these ladies with anyone besides their movie counterpart! However, I have to say Eugene Fitzherbert, from Tangled, and Kristoff from Frozen are my favorite heroes. And, seeing the Beast turn into Prince Adam in a live action production of "Beauty and the Beast" is still one of the highlights of my theater-going experience.

    1. I really liked Eugene, too, but I haven't seen Frozen yet so I'm not sure about Kristoff (I know it's shameful I haven't seen Frozen yet, but I'm hoping to get it from the library soon!). As for re-matching couples, the one I've come up with so far is I think Aladdin and Mulan would have a lot of fun adventures together - they each have some sass to them and they like to break the rules :)

    2. Very true! They would be mischief! Frozen is great. . . especially if you have sisters!

  2. I think Eric from the Little Mermaid and Pocahontas would be a good match! Eric is open to different types of people and cultures.. He married a mermaid. Eric's fluffy dog and Meeko the raccoon would be nice friends. And they are both adventurers!

    1. Good call, I think they'd make a great couple! I especially like the thought of Meeko and Eric's dog being buddies - it certainly doesn't hurt in a relationship if the pets get along well :) Thanks for commenting, Julie!

  3. This is such a fun topic! It makes me want to watch all of the movies again and really pay attention to their personalities. I think Cinderella and Aladdin would be an interesting couple, particularly because neither of them was born into royalty. Their perspectives on life as a couple who had experienced common life as well as Royal life would be interesting.

    1. Haha that's funny Emily, I was thinking along the same lines. One of my other thoughts was Cinderella and Eugene from Tangled. Mainly because Cinderella's song 'In My Own Little Corner' and Eugene's part in 'I Have a Dream' are along the same lines.. they could have a good time singing about the dreams for their lives together!

    2. Thanks for stopping by, Emily! I love the idea of Cinderella and Aladdin due to their lower-class backgrounds, and Eugene would fit that description, too (Jules, your idea for a song together about their dreams sounds awesome!). Plus I bet either Aladdin or Eugene would come rescue Cinderella from her evil stepmother rather than making her rely on her mice friends to get the job done :)

  4. I saw an article recently that said that someone put the Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast story lines together somehow... But I couldn't click on it! I've been looking for it to find out how they could be related!

    1. Thanks so much for commenting, Stephanie (especially since you had to try twice)! The article you're talking about sounds familiar but I didn't read it either, now I'm wishing I had! If I find it again on Facebook I'll tag you :)

  5. Awesome thanks! I love this idea, but I love all the movies so it's hard to picture the princes and princesses with anyone else!

    1. I know what you mean! While it's fun to think about how they could be switched around, I have to give Disney credit that they've put together some well-matched couples.

  6. Oh man, what a fun topic. :) I have been thinking about this, and I like the idea of Elsa and Flynn, just because she needs to have some fun and he's a cute, funny guy with a soft heart.
